Happy Earth Day to all of our fellow green beauty lovers! Make every day Earth Day by including some of our favorite clean and green products into your routine. Natural and safe ingredients are important but today we are taking the time to recognize a few companies that take it to the next level to do good for our planet through their sustainability commitments.

Our list covers from lipstick to laundry detergent. Let’s get started!

1. Plaine Products Shampoo

Not only does Plaine Products make a great natural and biodegradable shampoo that is perfect for all hair types (including colored hair!), but they also offer a unique sustainable packaging system. Plaine Products is on a mission to reduce the plastic waste created by single-use bottles. How it works: they send you a refill when you run out of your shampoo, then you use the same package to return your empty bottle, free of charge! Your empty bottle would then be cleaned, sterilized and refilled for another happy customer. Once the bottles come to the end of their lifecycle, they get turned into new bottles to start the cycle of minimal waste all over again— how amazing is this?!

2.  David’s Natural Toothpaste

Davids Natural Toothpaste has been a cult favorite in the green beauty world for many years. We love that Davids Natural Toothpaste is 100% recyclable and does not use plastic laminate like most other toothpaste brands. In addition, the carton packaging is made with 100% wind power which helps reduces CO2 emissions!

3. Rocky Mountain Soap Company Natural Bar Soap

Did you know that bar soap creates a smaller environmental footprint than liquid soap? According to this study, liquid soaps take more energy to produce, require more energy to transport and result in more packaging waste compared to bar soaps. If you’re shopping for bar soap, we recommend 100% natural Rocky Mountain Soap Company! What’s not to love about their skin-loving ingredients, a wide range of dreamy scents, and minimalistic packaging?

Although laundry detergent is not quite a “beauty” product, it’s an essential in every household. Some detergents on the market are made with toxic ingredients like Boric Acid, which can harm aquatic life and linger in the environment. Buckaroo Organics Soapberry Suds Organic Laundry Detergent is clean rated 0 in our app and is made only with ingredients safe for you and the earth. Buckaroo Organics Soapberry Suds Organic Laundry Detergent is 100% biodegradable and safe for septic systems!
